72nd Malaysia Work Camp Fosters Cultural Exchange in Imbak Village

IMBAK, Sabah — From February 21 to March 3, 2025, the 72nd Malaysia Work Camp brought together 9 Japanese and 3 local campers for an 11-day community-based program in the village of Imbak, Tongod.

Participants stayed with local host families, experiencing daily village life and deepening their understanding of Malaysian culture. Their main project was painting the full exterior wall of a large community church, working alongside the church’s youth.

One evening, a dialogue with local youth sparked a meaningful exchange about life in Imbak. The conversation strengthened friendships and highlighted the value of connection beyond cultural lines.

CFF Foundation Inc. was established first in Japan and developed in the Philippines, Malaysia and Myanmar, which focuses on taking children who are in need.
